The Role:
To coordinate day-to-day transport operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective deliveries across the estate. The role supports effective route planning, optimises fleet utilisation, and monitors service performance while working closely with Transport, Warehouse, and Stores teams to maintain smooth operations.

Hours per week: 42.5 office based
Location: Hemel Hempstead, Boundary Way
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate daily delivery schedules to maximise vehicle capacity and meet operational demands
Communicate clear and accurate route plans to Drivers, Stores, and Warehouse teams
Maintain accurate, real-time updates within transport management systems
Support compliance with driver hours regulations, WTD, and all relevant transport legislation
Monitor on-time delivery (OTD) performance, investigating and recording delivery exceptions
Coordinate effectively with third-party hauliers to ensure service standards are met
Identify and escalate operational issues quickly, providing clear and professional communication
Contribute to peak planning activities and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Previous experience in logistics, transport coordination, or a similar operational role
Understanding of transport compliance, including driver hours regulations and WTD (desirable)
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with drivers, warehouse teams, stores, and third parties
Practical working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or G-Suite
Calm and resilient under pressure, with a proactive and accountable approach to problem-solving
