The Role

As a Senior Supply Chain Analyst, you will partner closely with the Merchandising Planning Manager to deliver sales targets and maintain optimal product availability across all category levels. Your core focus will be on managing allocation and replenishment strategies to ensure efficient stock flow, minimize gaps, and support timely purchase order execution. In this role, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert, using your analytical expertise to drive performance, exceed KPIs, and provide insights that inform decision-making across key functions, including Merchandising, Buying, and Retail/Commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Category Ownership & Planning:

  • Work with the MPMgr to take responsibility for your category's supply, ensuring alignment with sales, availability, and stock cover targets.

  • Maintain store stock levels in line with service level requirements and category Open-to-Buy (OTB) guidelines.

Stock Management & Replenishment:

  • Manage the allocation and replenishment of stock to ensure availability is on target and reflective of sales and stock cover objectives.

  • Raise Purchase Orders for all products within defined lead times and economic order quantities.

Performance Management & KPI Achievement:

  • Exceed KPIs for stock and stock cover days, aligning with the sales plan and supporting overall supply chain goals.

  • Drive continuous process improvements to meet availability targets and store service levels by product.

Collaboration & Cross-Department Coordination:

  • Act as the supply chain subject matter expert within the wider Merchandising team, sharing knowledge and providing guidance.

  • Work closely with Buying, Retail, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment and to deliver the sales plan and stock cover targets.

  • Lead stock and availability updates for your category in Category meetings with the MPMgr.

Promotions & Campaigns:

  • Ensure product availability for promotional campaigns by managing appropriate stock levels and order processes to support planned sales.

  • Contribute to achieving stock reductions required for successful trading and stock replenishment

Supplier Relationship & Data Management:

  • Capture and validate data for supplier performance discussions.

  • Use advanced Excel skills to analyze large data sets and derive actionable insights to optimise stock levels and availability.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships by managing commitments fairly and in line with the company performance expectations across all channels.

  • Proactively address supply chain issues, working closely with suppliers to ensure timely product availability.

Critical Path Management:

  • Manage critical paths to ensure product is delivered on time, with stock in-store or online as planned.

  • Track and address risks that could affect availability and ensure smooth product flow to meet key deadlines.

Project Ownership & Sales-Driven Focus:

  • Take ownership of key projects (e.g., top 50 stores availability) to directly drive sales performance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve stock availability in strategic areas.

Communication & Problem-Solving:

  • Provide timely communication to internal teams regarding supply chain execution, particularly around promotional events.

  • Quickly solve supply chain challenges, especially under time-sensitive conditions, to maintain operational efficiency.

  • Resolve Freshdesk tickets promptly to ensure smooth operations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance stock availability, service levels, and overall supply chain efficiency.

  • Adapt to the dynamic, fast-paced retail environment to meet evolving business needs.
