We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Ecommerce Trading Manager (FTC) to join the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer!

 

We are looking for somebody who can Uncork their Potential and Lead Our Digital Wine Experience.

The Role:

Lead our online retail strategy, drive revenue growth, and enhance the customer experience. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of ecommerce best practices, and conversion optimization. As a key member of the team, you will oversee the end-to-end ecommerce operation, from website management and customer journey optimisation to performance analytics and website development. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of online sales strategies and deliver a best-in-class shopping experience.

 

Job Specifics:

  • Location: Watford - Our Head Office is based in Watford, our Head Office is 15-minute walk from Watford Junction station.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Performance Optimisation: Maximise online sales and profit potential through data analysis and strategic decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with creative, content, and marketing teams to ensure seamless coordination of products and campaigns.
  • Online Calendar Management: Oversee and manage the online trading calendar, ensuring promotions, merchandising, and paid media align with the overall marketing strategy.
  • Creative Briefing & Execution: Lead the briefing process for all website updates and changes, ensuring timely and accurate execution by the creative team.
  • Website Oversight: Ensure all site changes are implemented correctly on the first attempt, maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.
  • Customer Support Management: Oversee the online helpdesk, ensuring all queries are addressed within SLA (24 hours).
  • Content Management: Ensure all website content is accurate, aligned with the trading plan, and optimised for both user engagement and SEO.
  • Merchandising Strategy: Ensure site merchandising supports both business objectives and online sales performance.
  • SEO Optimisation: Continuously monitor and enhance site architecture to maintain high SEO standards, implementing regular updates and improvements.
  • A/B Testing & Data Insights: Develop and oversee an A/B testing schedule to optimise website performance and user experience.
  • Content & Blog Strategy: Create and manage a blog calendar that aligns with SEO strategies and customer engagement goals.
  • Website Development & Improvements: Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement site enhancements, resolve technical issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Project Support: Participate in key business projects to support strategic growth initiatives

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Digital Trading Experience: Previous experience in a digital trading role, with exceptional attention to detail and a data-driven mindset to drive continuous improvements.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make insight-led decisions to optimise performance.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Proven experience managing teams, collaborating with key stakeholders, and driving business growth through strategic initiatives.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Passion for enhancing user experience and customer engagement to maximise retention and conversion.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to plan, prioritise, and execute strategies effectively while solving complex problems.
  • SEO & Analytics Expertise: Proficiency in Google Analytics with hands-on experience in SEO strategy and execution.
  • Organisational & Multi-Tasking Skills: Strong administrative and organisational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability & Collaboration: A flexible, proactive, and self-motivated approach, with a positive attitude towards change and teamwork
