Majestic Wine St Johns Wood are looking for a Fine Wine Sales Specialist on a 6 month secondment!

The Role
As the Fine Wine Sales Specialist in our St Johns Wood store, you will be responsible for driving sales growth through market-leading fine wine customer service. You will step up in the absence of the Store Manager, acting as an example to more junior team members on all things Majestic best-practice. You will also be responsible for the training of your team with regards to selling and product knowledge and to support the wider region with this should you be asked to do so. You will also be expected to support local fine wine stores to ensure their ranging and stock holding is correct to support sales.

Contract: Fixed Term Contract (6 month Secodment)
Hours: 39 and 45 Hours Per Week Available
Key Responsibilities
Take full ownership of Fine Wine sales in your store. This must be done proactively, by building a robust Fine Wine Sales Plan and in conjunction with the Store Manager.
Be a point of contact and source of proactive planning and support with regards to Fine Wine across the region. This will include supporting with training, and also ranging and stock holding. Time commitments will be agreed on a monthly basis between you, your Line Manager and Regional Manager
Creating and Maintaining a full customer preference folder to ensure proactive selling and meeting customer needs and demands. Offering our customers a VIP service by proactively contacting them with the best products for them.
Working with the Store Manager to ensure you have the right stock in at the right time. Liaise directly with the Buying and Supply Chain teams as required.
Ensure the store team are trained and developed to a high standard in Majestic’s Fine Wine range so that they can competently maximise sales and offer an excellent customer experience when serving customers directly.
Ensure Customers get the best shopping experience in-store, delivering market-leading customer service at all times
Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
Stepping up in the absence of the Store Manager, providing an example of Majestic best-practice in all areas to more junior team members.
Ensure high standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met
Update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues
Respond to all customer complaints and comments in a timely manner
Active member of the product forum on behalf of the store and region
Inspiring the team to do their best by being a role model and inspirational leader
Completing commercially viable rotas
Making sure items are on the shelves and displayed attractively and priced accurately
Recruit, induct and train your new team members
Monitor, manage and improve key performance indicators throughout your store
Knowledge & Skills Required
- WSET 3 Qualification is essential
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ managerial experience in retail or hospitality industry
- Experience of leading and developing a team in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
- Have a track record of great team leadership, operational excellence, and delivering best in class customer service
- Excellent time-management, delegation and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to get stuck in, working alongside your team and getting the job done
- Excellent communication skills
- Have knowledge of profit and loss statements and managing sales targets
- Hold a full UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points
