The Role

 

You will focus on managing the content creation schedule, with responsibility for brand and product storytelling and tone of voice across all touch points for Majestic Wine. You will be responsible for the creation and approval of all content for Direct Mail brochure, email, and online content on social channels to support marketing campaigns, seasonal and cultural moments, and bring the brand values to life. You will need to understand and anticipate the customer mindset and are an expert in balancing engaging copy, and rich content, with commercial goals. Passionate about wine and fully tapped into social and customer trends, the Content Manager will shape and build our brand positioning across all Majestic Wine channels in order to support business growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and project management of all team output, including Direct Mail, Email, POS, blog and digital copy, Subscription and Commercial requirements, and other project work

  • Liaising with Studio Manager, Design Manager and CRM team to ensure everything runs smoothly and on time

  • Working with Design Manager to constantly improve briefing systems, data flow and accuracy across a busy team

  • Management and development of the Content Team, including engagement, recruitment, sourcing and managing freelance support, performance management, team structure, training, etc.

  • Leading larger projects across the Customer Team and cross-departmentally where necessary

  • Managing Content budget for freelance support and other costs and supporting the Head of Content and Brand with overall team budget management.

  • Ensuring the brand tone of voice is consistent through all content, working with the copywriters, freelancers and all ‘pen holders’ for the company to drive and unify Majestic’s voice and message across all channels

  • Responsibility for editing all copy and content

  • Work closely with the design, ecommerce, communications, PR, Store Operations, buying, and supply teams to constantly improve processes and reduce error rate

  • Leading progression for the Direct Mail and Email programmes, working with CRM to understand success metrics, and then with Trade Planning  Buying to ensure content is optimised.

  • Lead on Content personalisation development in Email and Direct Mail.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • High level of copywriting, editing and leadership skills, able to absorb and communicate brand tone of voice

  • Strong wine knowledge - at least WSET 2 and considerable wine/drinks experience

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently and effectively at all levels and across all departments

  • Faultless attention to detail with spelling, grammar and punctuation and all levels of proofing

  • Highly organised and self-motivated with ability to prioritise effectively in a fast paced retail environment

  • Ideas-driven and results focussed with the initiative to see these ideas through to fruition
