The Majestic Wine Support Centre is the vital hub that supports our retail teams as they shine. Serving as the cornerstone of our operations, it provides crucial support and resources to ensure our colleagues are able to deliver exceptional customer experiences. With centralised operations and dedicated oversight, the Support Centre champions innovation and upholds the highest standards, enabling our passionate customer facing colleagues to share their expertise and create memorable moments with every glass.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Buying Administrator to join us as we continue to grow our business…We believe that this success will come through our very own Majestic people and where best to start but right at the heart of our Internal Talent. You will be joining our award winning Retail Buying Team of the Year! We're incredibly proud that, at Majestic, many of our current Buyers started their careers working in our stores. Internal promotion is still a key priority for us as a business, to ensure we have a great spread of different levels of experience and insight across our key Support Centre teams. If working in this side of the business is something you have previously considered, and you have an intimate knowledge of our current range and offer - then this is absolutely a role you may wish to consider. As a Buying Administrator support the activities of the Buying function by managing the day to day admin.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-end invoice process - managing invoice queries by communicating with buyers and suppliers to resolve

  • Assist with sample management - liaise with suppliers to request samples for tasting and photography, tracking of inbound samples, general sample organisation, arranging for meetings and sign-offs.

  • Working with the other Buying Administrators to maintain the tidiness and organisation of the Tasting Room

  • Setting up SKUs and Suppliers, adding detail to line level detail documents for new SKUs and updating SKU or Supplier information as required

  • Own the administration of team attendance at trade fairs by coordinating with buyers to arrange travel, accommodation and visitor passes

  • Proof-reading marketing materials to ensure accurate grammar & product information ie. price, vintage, ABV

  • Work as part of the wider Buying team to support all product categories during busy trading periods

  • Additional ad-hoc tasks

Qualifications and Skills

Note: please do not include years of experience or non essential qualifications.

  • Highly organised, with a proven track record of prioritising workload to meet deadlines

  • Strong communication skills

  • Knowledge of wine, beer and spirits, and indeed the Majestic range is desirable but not essential.

  • Ability to multi-task in our fast-paced Buying team

  • Willingness to get stuck in, being flexible and open to change

  • Has an eye for detail and accuracy

  • Desired but not essential - experience in an admin role within a retail or Trading/Buying/Merchandising function
